Photographs of Mongolia were taken in 2005-6 around the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and nearby National Parks at Terelj and Hustain Huruu. Gobi Desert photographs were taken in June 2006. As well as the traditional yaks, there are the Bactrian camels, which have thick brown or beige fur in winter. Mongolia is full of wild alpine flowers such as edelweiss, gentians and delphiniums, which appear in the 3-4 week spring that separates winter and hot summer.
